How to Handle Noise on Hikvision Surveillance Display Screens?

Issue:
The phenomenon of noise (also called “snowflakes”) on the LCD display refers to abnormal display caused by signal interference on the LCD screen.

Troubleshooting Approach:

  1. Disconnect the Signal Cable (HDMI/DVI/VGA, etc.):
Check if the menu bar still displays noise when no signal is connected. If the menu bar displays normally without a signal, the issue is caused by external factors, and you should continue troubleshooting the cable and signal source. If the menu bar shows distortion with no signal, it is recommended to contact the large screen interface personnel (if there is no contact information for the interface personnel, it is suggested to provide device model, serial number, unit name, and device location when contacting customer service).
  2. Reduce the Input Resolution of the Signal Source or Replace the Cable with a Shorter One:
If the issue disappears, the noise is likely caused by signal attenuation due to the cable. Otherwise, continue troubleshooting the signal source.
  3. Replace the Signal Source:
If the issue is resolved, then the signal source is the problem. If the noise persists, it could be due to external interference, and the environmental factors need to be checked.
  4. Common Sources of Interference:
    • Power cables and signal cables are bundled together.
    • Wireless intercom devices are located nearby.
    • Large power substation equipment is in the vicinity.

Solutions:

  1. Signal Attenuation Caused by Cables:
Replace with shorter or higher-quality cables.
  2. Signal Source Issues:
Troubleshoot and check the source device for faults.

External Interference:
Check whether there is strong electrical interference on-site, and ensure that equipment is properly grounded and shares a common ground.
